First Presbyterian is active in the Newark community and beyond. Here are some of the ways we serve.

Local Missions

• Licking County Habitat for Humanity - building homes

• Heartbeats of Licking County - serving families

• Licking County Jail Ministries

• Licking County Food Pantry

• Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign - volunteers ring the bell each December

National & International Missions

First Presbyterian supports the following missionaries and agencies:

• John and Gwen Haspels - serving in Africa

• Mike and Nancy Mahon - Buckhorn Children's Center of Ohio, serving troubled young men

• Missionary Aviation Fellowship - flight needs in Peru

• Montana de Luz - a home for children with HIV/AIDS in Honduras

• David and Joy Millar - reaching international students in the Boston area

• PC(USA) mission work in Gabon, Niger, and Iraq

Healthy Kids Network Backpack Program

Each week during the school year, volunteers from First Presbyterian help fill and distribute backpacks with food for children in need through the Healthy Kids Network.
